West Coast Grooming Academy is the first grooming school EVER to be accepted into the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC)! This is a very big deal for WCGA and the future of the pet grooming industry, as it is the final step in our journey towards national accreditation. ACS WASC is a world-renowned accrediting association, a regional accrediting association in the United States, that works closely with the Office of Overseas Schools under the Department of State.
What does this mean for WCGA? This means that once accredited, we will be able to offer more financial aid opportunities, provide international student visas, offer college credits for our programs, and so much more! As our school grows, expect some changes coming in 2025, such as:
- Required hours to receive certification increased to 1,000.
- Apprenticeship & Journeyman program opportunities
- Internship & Externships at WCGA-approved facilities
- Opportunities to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
